Our Story

Suli & Co. started with one simple goal: we wanted people to wear Samoan. Whether you grew up in Samoa, you’re afakasi, second-generation New Zealand-born Samoan, married to a Samoan, have a Samoan uncle, or just really love corned beef - there’s a pride that comes with being Samoan. We wanted to create something that lets people express that pride, in a way that’s modern, unique, and truly their own.

Suli & Co. is all about representing where you’re from, no matter your age, size, or blend. Whether you’re rocking a Size S or a Size 5XL, we’ve got you covered (literally). We want our gear to help you rep your roots, connect with your culture, and wear your Samoan heritage loud and proud, every single day.

‘Suli’ means heirs, and that’s what we’re here for - to keep the culture alive, one ofu at a time. We’re reshaping the clothing scene worldwide, making it possible to be an individual, be unique, and still proudly rep your Samoan heritage.

You’re repping your culture, your pride, and everything that makes you, you. Because being Samoan isn’t just about where you’re from; it’s about who you are.

Our Commitment to our Fanua

At Suli & Co., we recognise the significant challenges that Samoa and other Pacific islands face due to climate change. We understand that these communities are among the hardest hit, often overlooked by the world’s careless attitude towards environmental issues. That's why we are committed to doing our part to help.

Our packaging is entirely eco-friendly and recyclable, and we ensure that our clothing is made responsibly using ethically sourced materials. Whenever possible, we prioritise local production and support Pacific businesses in our sourcing efforts. By taking these steps, we aim to contribute positively to our environment and the communities we cherish.

Talofa lava ‘aiga ma uō, my name is Ete I am from the villages of Falealupo, Lalomalava (Savaii) , Le’auva’a and Falevao (Upolu). A proud son to Eteuati and Minime Reupena and Co-founder of Suli & Co.. We appreciate you coming along on this malaga with us, unless you’ve accidentally clicked on this site and got lost, nonetheless afio mai ma tala mai ‘a’ao.

Growing up in Samoa came with its own limitations, but those limitations birthed dreams that lead to passion and eventually the creation of the brand we have today. I’ve always been inspired by different cultures, how they are expressed and how they are nurtured so I began to ask myself ‘What can I do for my own culture’.

Fashion is an every evolving monster, so we set out to create quality garments that reflected the values of Fa’a Samoa (Samoan Way). Our mission was to tailor our clothes to fit every shape and size, because if there’s one thing us Samoan’s get fed up with is sizing. We wanted to source the best materials and find different printing techniques so that we stay with today’s trends and create our own along the way.

Our journey started as the idea of creating something that my partner, Maddi, and I could leave behind for our family hence the word ‘Suli’ (Descendant) in our name. But as time went by we realised that this brand stood for far more than what we originally set it out to be. We realised that Suli & Co. is about is maintaining our cultural and spiritual identity, it is a vessel so that our culture could be expressed today and be passed down in the future.

Maddi - About Us.png

Co-Founder

Maddi King

I’m Maddi, Co-Founder of Suli & Co. Growing up in the Pacific Islands and Europe, I’ve always felt deeply connected to identity and culture. To me, knowing where you come from and being proud of who you are is so important.

The idea for Suli & Co. came from a shared dream between Ete and me. We wanted to create something that was ours and filled a gap in the market and allowed people to express their identity through fashion. We wanted to give people the opportunity to “wear their heart on their sleeve” with clothing that celebrates Samoan heritage in a modern way.

Growing up, I saw firsthand how central fa’asamoa was to the people around me and it soon became just as important to me. Samoans are so proud of who they are, and I wanted to create a way for that pride to shine through in what they wear. Suli & Co. is about breaking through traditional barriers to bring heritage into contemporary streetwear, while still staying true to cultural roots.

Building this brand has been a way for me to honour the people who shaped me; those who welcomed me into their homes, shared their language, and taught me the meaning of community. Every design we create is a reflection of the respect I have for fa’asamoa and the strength it gives to those who carry it. Suli & Co. isn’t just about clothing - it’s about storytelling, connection, and making space for culture in the everyday.
